The Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme will end on the 30th September 20201. During the remainder of August and September the government’s contribution to wages will be 60% up to a maximum cap of £1,875 for the hours the employee is on furlough. Employers should pay 20%.
To be eligible for the grant employers must continue to pay their furloughed employees 80% of their wages, up to a cap of £2,500 per month, for the time they spend on furlough. Employers can continue to choose to top up their employees’ wages above the 80% total and £2,500 cap for the hours not worked at their own expense.
Claims for furlough payments in August must be made by 14th September 2021, and any claims for furlough payments in September must be made by 14th October 2021. The deadline for any amendments to claims is 28th October 2021.
